An "Eventful" Success
On Friday, June 18th, 2010, the Elisa Lanera Foundation held its 1st Annual “ELF Helps Africa” Fundraiser at the Westchester Hills Golf & Country Club in White Plains, NY.
The night proved to be a great success. 57 Guests gathered to celebrate, support, and raise funds toward the building of the Library/Learning Center project for the Kiddy Kare Nursery and Preparatory School in Abokobi, Ghana.
The night consisted of a cocktail hour with pass hors d’oeuvres, many silent auction items to bid on, a 50/50 raffle, a lovely buffet dinner and dessert, a short introduction speech by Vice Chairman, John Richards, as well as an extraordinary slide show and informative presentation by Jaymie Lanera, Founder and Executive Director. Thanks to the evening’s success, we are approximately half-way toward meeting our goal of $20,000 to build the Library/Learning Center in Ghana.
Special Thanks to the Westchester Hills Country Club and Mark Sheehan for allowing us to hold the event in their facility and donating a gift certificate to the silent auction, to Bruno-Wessel, Inc., for sponsoring our event, to Dave DeBellis for graciously donating his 50/50 raffle winnings back to the organization, and to the following individuals who donated items to our silent auction held that evening: Ayindisa, Tre-Angelina, The White Horse Country Pub and Restaurant, A.E.
